RIVERVIEW PONY CLUB
Riverview Pony Club is supported by Peppercorn Ranch. However, Club Membership is open to everyone regardless of where they ride!
The mission of the United States Pony Clubs is to provide a program for youth that teaches riding, mounted sports, and the care of horses and ponies, thereby developing repsonsibility, moral judgement, leadership, and self-confidence.
The United States Pony Clubs Inc. is like Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, except it provides education, fun, and competitive experiences with horses.
Riverview Pony Club is a local group similar to a Scout Troop. It is part of the Camino Real Region. The Club has its own activities and participates in Regional and National activities.
Riverview Pony Club Members usually meet once a month for unmounted instruction and practice. Members are expected to ride and take lessons on a regular basis (at least once a week). They can schedule this at Peppercorn Ranch or another facility. There is no obligation to use Peppercorn Ranch services to be a member of Riverview Pony Club.
All Pony Club competitions, called Rallies, are by teams. Riverview regularly sends teams to all types of Rallies.
Members can join at any age through 25, however Riverview Pony Club has a policy of limiting the youngest age to 6.
Parents are key laborers with Pony Club. They help support the many activities Pony Club offers. No horse knowledge is needed! Parents meet quarterly to organize activities.
Annual dues are paid to the local club, Regional, and National organizations. Members are expected to pay for their horse expenses (if they own or lease a mount - NOT REQUIRED!), lessons, rally entry fees, etc. Fundraisers are held to help support many club activities.
Riverview Pony Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and gladly accepts donations of horses, tack, farm equipment and machinery, or anything that can be used to support its programs.
