Generally all of our lessons are done with small groups of four or less.  However, we can provide an introductory experience for larger groups by setting up a round robin event.  This would be appropriate for Scout Troops, birthday parties, or any other groups.

Large groups are divided into small groups of four or less.  We create stations at various locations on the Ranch and have the small groups rotate through each one.  One station is riding and another is catching, leading, tying, grooming, and tacking up.  Other stations could be operated by the
sponsoring organization with its own activities. 

Riding is done in a small round pen for maximum control and safety.  Smaller and very inexperienced riders are kept on a lead line.  Instruction on rider position and control of the horse is given.

We begin the program with an introduction, tour of the Ranch, and discussion about safety around horses.  This takes about 20 minutes and we plan on each station taking about 30 minutes.  A group of 8 would take about one and a half hours to complete the program.  Larger groups would have more stations and take more time.

CLOTHING:
Footwear with closed toes and heels.
Long pants.
ASTM certified helmet (we have a selection to borrow).

We charge $25 per participant.  Each must have a Release signed by themselves or a parent or guardian if under 18. Click here to download a Release.

We usually need to plan a large group event at least 30 days in advance.  Weekends and holidays are the best days to choose.
